A little glass-fronted cafe full of plants in Dover. Good coffee on a La Marzocco, golden toasties, house-made croissants and a cabinet of cakes. Sit inside, grab a table out front, or take it for the road.

Nothing fancy, just the things you want on a cold Huon morning or halfway through a long drive. What's on the blackboard changes, so ask at the counter what's in the toastie press today.

The one people come back forGolden, crunchy and properly melty. The blackboard on the counter changes, and one of the regulars is pumpkin, pesto, feta and melty cheese. Toasties come up in twelve of our Google reviews, more than anything else we make.

La Marzocco, Villino beansEspresso pulled on a La Marzocco that came all the way from Italy, with beans from Villino. Black, white, or a long black on the way down the highway.

The coffee
“The heart of the cafe, all the way from Italy.”
That's how we introduced our La Marzocco when we opened the doors in Dover in November 2023. Every coffee comes off it, made with beans from Villino.
One traveller called it the best coffee on their trip around Tassie, which we'll happily take.
The place
A glass box full of plants, right on the highway.
Inside
A handful of seats among the plants, blond timber shelves and handmade ceramics. It's small, so on a busy morning the tables out front are the best spot in the house.
Out the front
Outdoor tables in the sun when the weather's kind, and they're dog friendly, so bring your furry mate along.
On the way through
Dover is a good stop whether you're cycling the far south, touring Tassie, or just heading home. Quick refuel, then off you go.

Opening hours
Thursday to Sunday.
We're open four days a week, mornings through to early afternoon. Hours can shift with the seasons and the holidays, so if you're making a special trip, give us a ring first.
